LaShena, Aerojet Rocketdyne’s fourth quarter of 2021 Values Champion for EXCELLENCE, says that excellence means "the ability to never give up, and taking on any challenges that may arise and leveraging them into opportunities for success." LaShena added that trying to figure out and prove how a manufacturing process works can sometimes be a challenge. However, she loves these opportunities as they allow her to stretch her skills and bring out the best in her coworkers.

LaShena's supervisor, Eric, manufacturing manager, says, "She is always the first person to encourage/praise her teammates while explaining that there are opportunities in all experiences, good or bad. She uses this approach to charge and embrace new ideas from the entire team which results in nothing but success for the program and ultimately the company."

Eric added, “Throughout my 20 years of work in the aerospace industry, I have never seen an individual that continuously exudes such a positive work attitude. She brings a refreshing 'can do' attitude everyday which has directly created a positive working environment for the entire team."
