Ours is a relentless pursuit of advancing our know-how and our innovation beyond conventional boundaries. It’s that commitment to EXCELLENCE that we brought to the New Horizons spacecraft Pluto mission team.
New Horizons includes a propulsion system built by AR that provided course corrections and pointed the spacecraft at Pluto during closest approach on July 14, 2015. Use of our propulsion on this historic mission helps scientists understand worlds at the edge of our solar system. And for our work on this mission, our team was selected for the prestigious 2016 Dr. Robert H. Goddard Memorial Trophy by the National Space Club and Foundation. The award is the Club’s highest honor, given annually to the individual or team that has provided leadership in groundbreaking space and aeronautics capability to the United States. New Horizons’ propulsion system performed exactly as planned, which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Aerojet Rocketydyne team who helped ensure this success.
I have always found Aerojet Rocketdyne to subscribe to these excellent principles.
